Somme Strolls
Battlefield tour to the Somme battlefields 2010

Somme Strolls

Tour Overview

This year’s Somme Strolls cover some new ground in addition to returning to some of the most popular of our previous walks. From Fricourt in the south to Beaumont Hamel in the north we follow in the footsteps of Thomas Atkins across the old Somme battlefields, in addition to five memorable walks a morning in Villers Bretonneux and visits to the Theipval Memorial ensure this is comprehensive study of the old front line.

Tour Details

Day 1 - Travel from UK to central Amiens Hotel.

Day 2 - Walk One Fricourt to La Boisselle, starting at Citadel CWGC we chart the front line up to points 110 and onto Fricourt village, attacked on the first day. After a study of the 10th West Yorkshires ill fated advance we continue onto La Boisselle via the Lochnagar Crater.
