This anniversary tour follows the final year of the war from the turning of the tide at Villers Brettonneux and Le Hamel through the pursuit to Mons to eventual victory. Through a series of battlefield walks and associated visits we see at close hand the effects of the learning curve on battlefield as the troops of Britain, Australia, Canada, South Africa & America cooperate to bring about the Armistice in November. Due to the distance involved this tour is based in two hotels ensuring you spend the maximum time on the ground and minimum time on a coach.
Day 1 - Travel from the UK to our first hotel in central Arras.
Day 2 - Walk one - "Turning the Tide" Villers Brettonneux & Le Hamel. Walk two - "Ludendorff's Black Day" Following the 8 August Battle
Day 3 - Walk three - "Over there" From the capture of the Riqueval Bridge to Bellicourt - Study of the Canal du Nord as we follow the British & Canadian advance including a visit to the Vis en Artois Memorial to the missing.
Day 4 - Walk four - "The Sambre" a canal walk & capture of the Mormal Forest. Study of the final shots of the war on the British front overnight in Mons.
